THE DAILY NAPOLEON 1ST COMES TO LIFE IN MONTREAL
For once in 185 years of existence, the Crypt of the Notre-Dame Basilica opens its doors to offer visitors an exceptional showcase on the life of Napoleon 1 st . The exhibition Napoleon’s Treasures , which is like a journey unparalleled in the life of this legendary character, will be presented in a fabulous setting to the 1 st of September.
The exhibition, which has more than 350 precious objects that belonged to Napoleon interest both lovers of art as architecture, decoration and fashion. She also captivate children and adults carrying them to cross the 18 th and 19 th centuries. Visitors can admire paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, decorative arts, furniture, porcelain and tapestries that characterize the Empire style. Many of the exhibits have never been shown in public.
Mainly after the private collection of Pierre-Jean Chalençon the Chalençon Collection, France , the exhibition will also bring together some pieces of Serge Joyal Collection , the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal and Collection Power Corporation .
